Poly-Ink, a French company based in the Paris area has announced a breakthrough in the field of transparent and conductive materials as substitutes to ITO (Indium-Tin Oxide).

Poly-Ink develops and commercializes Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) and Silver Nanowires-based transparent and conductive materials to be printed and/or coated on various substrates.

Poly-Ink materials are used to create transparent conductive layers. These layers are the corner stone of the manufacture of printed electronics on flexible substrates requiring high levels of optical transparency and electrical conductivity, such as OLED or OPV applications.

Through a most innovative biosourcing process, Poly-Ink offers highly-stable transparent and conductive materials to be coated on substrates through various deposition methods (spray coating, spin coating, bar coating, etc)

Poly-Ink Silver Nanowires-based material, PolyBioWire®, offers performances identical to, if not better than, ITO. Sheet resistances on PET substrates can be observed and set in the 100 Ω/□ to 20 Ω/□ range, the optical transparency is around 90% in the visible. Please find here below an example.

PolyBioWire2

Figure 1: Measurement of the resistance of PolyBioWire® on a PET film. The measured resistance is at 99 Ω, and the measured sheet resistance with a 4 points probe method has been noted in the 20 Ω/□ to 30 Ω/□ range on a PET sheet. The transparency is close to 90% in the visible spectrum.

PolyBioWire® thin-coated films offer high transparency and low resistivity without curing process. A simple drying process is required at low temperatures (

PolyBioWire® can be deposited on a variety of substrates including ceramic, glass, plastics and thin films using a roll-to-roll (R2R) process.

PolyBioWire® high stability is the solution to the poor stability of the nanowire inks currently found on the market.

Poly-Ink will attend LOPE-C Show (Booth BO-318) on 4-5 March in Munich and Printed Electronics Europe Trade Show (Booth C10) on 28-29 April 2015, Berlin Germany.
